Is It Safe For My Kids To See The Dentist During COVID-19?

If you’re a parent in Towne Lake, Bridgeland, or Elyson, you might not think it’s a good idea for your kids to see a dentist like Dr. Chun or Dr. Julia at Cavity Patrol Pediatric Dentistry during the pandemic. In this blog, we’ll explain why it’s safe for kids to see our team, and why pediatric dental care is so important, even during the COVID-19 pandemic. Let’s get started.

Routine Care Can’t Wait, Especially For Kids

As they grow, children require regular dental appointments to make sure their teeth are healthy, to check for oral development issues, and to help them understand the importance of good oral health.

This is particularly important for kids because their mouths change so fast. For example, most kids have just a few baby teeth by the age of 2, but will have all of their baby teeth by the age of 3. That’s a big change in just one year!

Because of this, it’s not a good idea to delay routine care for kids due to COVID-19. Frequent checkups are the best way to protect their oral health, and we’re doing everything we can at Cavity Patrol Pediatric Dentistry to keep you and your kids safe.

How We’re Protecting Your Little Ones At Cavity Patrol Pediatric Dentistry

We take your safety seriously at Cavity Patrol Pediatric Dentistry, which is why we’ve implemented a wide variety of precautions and are taking steps to help eliminate the threat of COVID-19 at our office. This includes:

  • Patient check-ins – We’ll require you to fill out a few forms related to COVID-19 exposure, recent travel habits, and whether you or your child are feeling any symptoms that could indicate COVID-19 exposure. We ask that all adults and kids over the age of 2 wear masks.

  • Social distancing – We have reconfigured our office to provide as much space between patients as possible, and we have even installed an iPad station for kids that’s sanitized between each use to help your little one stay happy and occupied while they wait for their appointment.

  • PPE at our office –Our front office team members are wearing eye protection and masks, and our dental team is wearing extra PPE when necessary. This may include gowns, caps, foot coverings, and face shields. All PPE is properly stored, disposed of, and reprocessed between patients.

  • Enhanced cleaning for operatories & common areas – Our office opened during the COVID-19 pandemic, so our staff members have been trained to leave no stone unturned when it comes to cleanliness. We follow all requirements for cleaning patient operating rooms, and are also frequently cleaning and sanitizing common areas like bathrooms and waiting rooms to provide your family with a safe environment.
